About Gwen

From the time Gwen Howard was born just fourteen years ago in the town of Palo Alto, California she was immersed in music. From performing Beatles' songs while running around in the inflatable pool in the backyard, to composing a little song to bring attention to the fact she had just sliced her hand open with a rotary blade, Gwen could almost always be found singing. Through the years her interest in singing expanded to other means of making music. She's never seen an instrument she hasn't wanted to play. By the age of twelve she played five instruments, and was involved with several choirs. Gwen sees music as a way to connect and reach people from diverse backgrounds. She once said, "The seeds of music are everywhere. It's our job to find them, and bring them to life." Like most fourteen year olds, she is frequently asked what she wants to be when she grows up. Depending on who's asking her answers range from a rocket scientist to a rock and roller, but whatever she does, music will always be a part of her life.
